M&G Athens Guide

Transportation

Always be aware of your belongings. Pick-pocketing in the train or smartphone-snatching in the street are quite common.

Metro

This is an up-to-date map of Athens' Metro.

A 2-min walk from our apartment gets you to the Acropolis Metro Station. From there, you can access metro line 2 (the red one).

Metro to Athens Airport: To calculate your departure time, use this Frequency of Routes table.

Buses

Bus 550 and trolley-bus 10 pass from Syggrou Ave. Buses are a fairly complicated network; if you are determined to move around using them, you should google specific destinations or ask a local person for info.

Tram

This map includes both metro and tram stops and connections. Note that it does not include the most recent metro stops, so refer to Metro above for an up-to-date map.

The closest tram stop is "Syggrou Fix," on Syggrou Avenue.

Intercity Buses (KTEL)

To travel to other parts of Greece, you can take the intercity buses (known as "KTEL") from the Kifissos Bus Station.
